Every summer, brands offer clever ways to say “Thank you for your service.” But that kind of thanks can fall flat. Building on the insight that military families move far more often than most Americans—making it difficult to feel welcome in new communities—we created the Hometown Salute. It was our way to let everyday Americans show some meaningful support for military families and help them feel part of the communities they call home. Changing "thank you for your service" to "you are welcome."
